Tangie Herring

Biography
State Representative Tangie Herring is a dedicated public servant and accomplished education leader with extensive experience in early childhood education, educational leadership, nonprofit management, and community advocacy. She has championed policies that strengthen education system, support children and families, and promote workforce development. As the founder of Y Not Us Foundation, she has led initiatives focused on leadership development empowerment, and expanding opportunities for underserved communities. Her work in the Georgia House of representatives reflects a commitment to equity, collaboration, and measurable outcomes for Georgian families.

Angela James

Biography
Angela James, EdD is the Superintendent of Wilkinson County Schools. Angela is a lifelong educator with 35 years of dedicated services to both the public school system and post secondary education. Throughout her career, Angela has served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal and principal, gaining valuable experience at every level of school system. Following her retirement in 2020, Angela went to work for Georgia Department of Education as a School Improvement Specialist. Angela completed her doctorate degree in Education from Georgia Southern University with a focus in Education Administration. She holds a Specialist Degree and a Master of Education from Georgia State College and University in Education Leadership. Angela has also served as an adjunct professor in the College of Education at Georgia College & State University. She is a member of Georgia Association of Education Leaders, Georgia School Superintendents Association, and Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Angela is married to Gregory James and has one daughter, Bria.

J.W. Mozley

Biography
Dr. J.W. Mozley currently serves as the Executive Director for Talent Management within the Division of Human Resources at Gwinnett County Public Schools. In his role, Dr. Mozley supervises a team of 40 human resources professionals. He and the team are responsible for multiple phases of the employee's life cycle including recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining talent within the school district. Under his leadership, district Key Performance Indicators related to certified teacher vacancies, substitute fill rates and employee retention rates have all been positively impacted.
Prior to serving at the district office office, Dr. Mozley was the charter principle of Coleman Middle School. Coleman Middle School is Gwinnett County Public School's flagship STEAM school. In 2017, at the close of its inaugural year, Coleman Middle School earned school-wide STEAM certification through the Georgia Department of Education; Coleman Middle was the first middle school in the state to earn this distinction. Based on student achievement, stakeholder perceptions, and school operations management, Coleman Middle School was recognized as a reward school by Gwinnett County Public Schools in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In 2019, Coleman Middle School was recognized by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement for greatest student achievement gains over a three-year period. The Georgia Department of Education awarded Coleman Middle as The Creative School of Excellence - Arts Integration Award in 2020 where all students have access to arts integration in every subject and there are both rigor and relevance in the arts integration programming. In 2022, Coleman Middle School was recertified as a STEAM Middle School by the Georgia Department of Education.
Dr. Mozley holds a PhD and Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership-both from Mercer University. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Master of Arts of Teaching in Mathematics from Georgia College and State University.
Dr. Mozley is a graduate of Gwinnett County Teachers as Leaders and Leadership Gwinnett. He has presented at numerous conferences on topics ranging from student engagement, Muti-Lingual Learners, STEAM education, and strategies to support the growth and development of employees.

Larry Newton

Biography
Dr. Mike Newton, Ed.D is a Lecturer in the MAT Special Program and recently served as the Assessment & Accreditation Director in the JHL College of Education. Mike holds degrees from Oxford College, Emory University, Georgia College & State University and Georgia Southern University and is a career public educator and retired school superintendent. Mike has served as President of the Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) and as Chair of the Middle Georgia Regional Education Service Association (RESA). He also served as the Chair of the Dean's Leadership Committee at the JHL College of Education.

Joseph Nunnally

Biography
Joseph L. Nunnally is the founder and CEO of Solid Rock Kingdom-Focused Ministries, Inc and Living Your Purpose, Inc. He is the Senior Pastor of The Rock Hill Baptist Church and an Adjunct Professor at Athens Technical College. Joseph received his Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Georgia College & State University, Master of Education in Leadership from University of Georgia, PhD in Religious Philosophy from the Tabernacle Bible College and Seminary. Joseph also holds Leadership Certificates from Myles Monroe Global Leadership Institute in Nassau, Bahamas. He is a Certified Professional Life Coach specializing in Leadership Development, Personal Growth and Spiritual Growth and Development.
Joseph is a member of the Greene County Concerned Clergy, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Professional Association of Georgia Educators, Georgia Retired Education Association, NAACP, Phi Tau National Honor Religious Society, past member of the Executive Board of the Greene County Family Connections and Past Chairman of the Moore's Ford Memorial Committee. He is the former President and CEO of the Greene County Habitat for Humanity and is the current President of the Greene County Retired Teachers Association. Joseph is currently in the process of writing his first book which will focus on personal growth and development. His passion for developing and empowering others serves as daily motivation to excel in all that he does.

Betsy Short

Biography
Dr. Betsy Short serves on the College of Education Leadership Board. She is also a part-time instructor for the Department of Professional Learning and Innovation. Dr. Short retired as principal of Morgan County Primary School in 2015. Before she became a principal, she served as a Student Support Specialist in Henry County School System. She is the author of two books and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Betsy Earned B.S, M.Ed, and Ed.S. degrees in Early Childhood Education, as well as certification n Administration and Leadership at GcSU. In addition, she earned certification in PreK-12 Reading at the University of West Georgia and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at the University of Sarasota. Dr. Short also completed post-doctorate work in Behavior Management at the UGA and National Board certification as an Early Education Generalist. She serves on variety of committees for her church, enjoys hiking and traveling, writing, and creating art and resides in Monticello with her husband of 37years.
